Capital City With Small Town Charm
The charming Slovenian capital of Ljubljana is the only large city in the country. Dominated by Castle Hill with the medieval Ljubljana Castle on top, the city is a picturesque mix of Balkan architectural styles, romantic bridges and scenic views.

Ljubljana was an unexpectedly surprise. The old town has a great nightlife with a lot of good local restaurants. There are shops and outside places to sit. There is a lot of smoking in restaurants and in common areas. The people of Slovenia are very kind and nice. The city is very very safe even at night. Hire a guide and see the Alps and other surrounding areas. Stay in the old city district you can walk everywhere and if you can make a reservation at the Palace restaurant in the palace tower. It's so awesome with a great staff and wonderful food and wine paired wines. The price is totally worth the money. Overall Ljubljana was a very pleasant last minute addition to our itinerary. I LOVE this city.
I LOVE this city. It is absolutely gorgeous-the architecture, the ambience, the streets, trees, markets. My favorite coffee shop was Stow, inside the Ljubljana City Museum. You check in and have breakfast next to the WUD 10 m. to the right as you face the entrance. The hotel is around 4 klm from the city centre, free bikes are available. Make sure that the balcony door is properly closed if you want the air conditioner to keep working. It was 35 degrees when we were there and it was comfortable in the room. WiFi worked perfectly.
