Penzion Central Park was great! The staff were super friendly and accommodating! And the food - just wow! Delicious and the presentation was gorgeous. We would have loved to stay much longer than our short visit. I highly recommend this hotel.

Really close to town, and Zilina is a lovely one. I was upgraded to a studio which made this a very special stay, with amazing views and exceptional hotel facilities. Besides the football ground, which was great as I was watching Zilina play.

From Check-In to Check-Out – A Thoughtful Experience at Hotel Boss, Žilina My experience at Hotel Boss in Žilina was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel is incredibly easy to find and ideally located—just a short, well-lit 3–4 minute walk from the Old Town Square, where you’ll find a vibrant mix of restaurants, shops, and local attractions. Its central location made it the perfect base for both leisure and business activities. What truly elevated my stay was the thoughtful and personalised service, especially from Stan, a member of the hotel staff. On the day of my arrival, I was running late and concerned about missing the standard check-in time. Stan personally called to check in, confirmed I was still en route, and kindly waited for me, extending the check-in window without hesitation. This small but meaningful gesture made a lasting impression and reflected the hotel’s genuine commitment to guest satisfaction. I also appreciated the quiet workspace on the ground floor, which I used free of charge to catch up on work and hold a few business meetings. The hotel remained secure throughout the night, and every amenity felt carefully tailored to meet the expectations of guests. From the warm hospitality to the practical conveniences, Hotel Boss doesn’t just offer accommodation—it delivers a personalised and stress-free experience that makes you feel truly at home.

Hotel Slovakia (Architects: Gabriela Cimmermanová, Otto Sedlák, Stanislav Toman) is a remarkable place, a great and elegant example of Slovakia’s / Czechoslovakia’s brutalist architecture. Luckily there wasn’t too much refurbishing (as for now / Summer 2025) and one can only hope that future renovations will take place with consideration and in respect of the cultural heritage. The tiles in our bathroom were a bit disappointing, some random 90s design that didn’t fit the overall style of the hotel, besides that we were very happy to experience this place! (The shopping mall in front of the building should be torn down though, as it disrupts the original axis that was once created by the city planners…) Don’t miss to book breakfast to see the amazing original ceiling lighting in the restaurant-area! A recommendation, not only for architecture and design enthusiasts! Fun fact: The architects received the 1981 Dušan Jurkovič Award for Hotel Slovakia, which is Slovakia’s architectural award with the longest tradition.
