    If you want late nights, loud music and a party life, don’t go to Kho Lak. If you want rest and relaxation, great food and no crowds this is the place. Pick your time of year and the town seems deserted.

    Not as busy as Phuket, less people but lots of restaurants with reasonable prices. Very family orientated, no night clubs & pole dancing girly bars. Khao Lak is what Phuket was 30 years ago but is becoming more popular.

    We love khao lak as its a lovely town as it suits our need for relaxation, great food and its not hectic . If you're after entertainment and the business if a city, then it's not the place for you

    If you want to hang around with far to many unwanted, Khao...

    If you want to hang around with far to many unwanted, Khao Lak is the place to go. It certainly focusing on tourists with bad taste from a special part of the world. There are a lot of nice places nearby if you just stay clear of central Khao Lak. The unwanted are sadly still to many.

    We have been to khao Lak 7 times now because we love it...

    We have been to khao Lak 7 times now because we love it so much. We have eaten in many different places , but the Orchid is our favourite restaurant. All of the eateries were very reasonably priced. Khao Lak is a very walkable resort and safer now there are two pedestrian crossings. We are older and some pavements have quite high steps down and up, but there are usually little ramps for less abled or children's buggies. There are plenty of mini marts to buy supplies and several pharmacies to get advice or medications if needed. Also plenty of little craft / souvenir shops. There are plenty of bank machines and several money exchange kiosks. Khao Lak is basically one very long main street with shops etc on both sides of the street. It is not a late night resort, the whole. Most restaurants are closed by 10p.m.

    Lovely quite town, away from the hustle and bustle of Phuket. No traffic. Beautiful beaches. a large selection of restaurants. Plenty of local taxis to take you around. Very friendly local community. A totally different more chilled vibe than Phuket.

    The owners have somehow created an oasis of calm and comfort in the middle of Khao Lak. Welcoming, friendly, clean, comfortable, best coffee we have had for a while and quite possibly the best omelette we've had in SE Asia. The hosts were super friendly and helpful, when they couldn't fit us in for an extra night after our dive trip they organised a room at a different hotel and transferred our luggage there for us. That is real service for you. Oh, and the bike hire place next door was great too.

    We had an excellent stay in Ayara Villas. We went to Khao Lak as part of our honeymoon trip and the staff made it feel very special, the staff even went above and beyond by upgrading us to a nicer room for part of the trip. The hotel was very clean and quiet, the rooms decently sized and bed comfortable. The breakfast selection was adequate.

    We stayed at the Khao Lak Marriot on an opening deal and were incredible impressed to say the hotel hadn't even been open for a month. The staff were all superb and each restaurant offers something different. We loved the vast beach at the property and the adult only pool was a very welcomed amenity.
