I am considering retirement in HY and this first stay was a real help to decide. I really like HY. There is so much I haven't seen on this trip but I will return in a couple of months. BOLT is a great way to get around, average journey price 55 baht (april 2025) BOLT drivers are amazing, you can have a car turn up in 2 minutes and be on your way. The selection of food in HY is off the scale. I have not met one person who was unkind or rude. Lots of places to visit and reasonable rates. Great choices for food with delicious, fresh street food to great restaurants - choices to fit different budgets. Great for family vacation as it is more than just a place to shop. With the hot and humid weather, best to dress with light clothing. Good place to visit. Many good places to visit in Hat Yai and Songkhla. Gooden Statue Mermaid, Stainless Steel Temple, 4-Face Buddha, Floating Market etc. Foods are good and very cheap. If you're looking for a family friendly location, affordable, plenty of local night markets, a convenient location and relatively close to necessities, Hat Yai would definitely be a choice to consider. I book superior king room. The location is just beside Makro (big supermarket) and opposite Central Festival (big mall). Can walk to greenway night market (10 Mins). I usually take grab to lee garden that area but it only takes 5-10mins so is not a big problem. The hotel is inside a lane so individual is abit scary to walk to outside.
