This is a very rural, very quiet island.
This is a very rural, very quiet island. There are no big developments, no nightlife, and not a lot to do except relax. We really only left our resort to go on day trips via boat (island hopping, snorkeling, etc). It's beautiful, but rough around the edges and about as different from The White Lotus as you can get. Great island to be on.

THE BEST PLACE WE HAVE STAYED IN THAILAND!! The owner and his family were so friendly and kind and could not help us enough. We hired a motorbike which was extremely well looked after and we were given some fuel too. There were laundry facilities for a small fee and complimentary water and coffee. The Pod we stayed in was immaculate and so wel built by the owner himself. Noi is super nice and genuine, always made sure that everything was perfect. The bungalow was really cosy and spacious with a small terrace on the back and pleasant patio on the front. Above all it was sorrounded by a lush and beautiful garden. Location was also perfect: right in the middle of Ko Yao Yai so very comfortable to visit the whole island. We had a villa near the beach and was perfect! The resort has two different swimming pools. The resort is very large and the villas and the road are among the jungle, they had golf cars that take you from the entrance of the village (inside you cannot go with motorbike) to you villa or the restaurant.
