Go along where the restaurants and people are as it's the nicest there, or a tiny bit farther south along the shore. Closer to the airport and national park, the beach is very dirty and full of rubbish, although you can watch the airplanes take off. I loved eating at The Beach Restaurant Nai Yang. It is one of the very few places on the island that isn't over developed, however this won't last long. Not a place for people seeking late night entertainment, very much a family location as evidenced by the number of Vlad's army visitors. An excellent and extensive west facing beach. So if looking for a low impact and quiet holiday this is a very convenient place to come. We stayed here just before leaving Thailand. It is great because it is not as busy as the other beaches in Thailand but it still has some restaurants and markets. I advised reception ladies to tell their manager a message wi-fi has to be good one as people need to stay online for work and contacts with friends.
