    I live in the region. Carlsbad the city was not the issue. It was Studio 6 that was disappointing. The advertisement on booking.com for this facility is inaccurate, downright wrong. When was the last time anyone from booking.com actually visited the property?Booking.com reputation is based on reviews from customers that use your services. Please, I implore you to have someone visit this property. This property is not a good representation of the city and of booking.com.

    Calsbad is a quaint village with walkable night life...

    Calsbad is a quaint village with walkable night life restaurants and bars. Only north Carlsbad has limited beach access due to houses built on the bluff, the majority of the town, everything south of Carlsbad Village Dr and north of Cannon Rd is unobstructed public access. South Carlsbad has several good surfing spots, and don't forget about Legoland.

    Loved that restaurants, shopping. and the beach are within walking distance. From the Tamarack Beach Resort, we were able to walk to the Daily News for breakfast, the Harbor Cafe for lunch, and have dinner at the hotel adjacent Dini’s. Enjoyed the beautiful plants and flowers that thrive in Carlsbad.

    It's mostly an upscale suburban community.

    It's mostly an upscale suburban community. Lots of nice grocery stores and other shopping. I was there because my Sister and Niece live there. When I'm visiting with my wife, we like Oceanside. In some ways it's better for tourists. But it does not have the great grocery and other stores that Carlsbad has.

    The property has an amazing view of Carlsbad beach. We loved the patio. All the staff were very pleasant and made our stay enjoyable. The property does needs a facelift but my understanding is that this is in process with the patio deck being replaced in November. Our room was comfortable and spacious but had a unique smell which comes with age. Overall we would come back.

    The location was perfect. Right on the beach and walking distance to the centre of the village. Stunning views, with a nice outdoor area that was perfect for yoga, sunsets and watching the world go by (people, pelicans and dolphins!). Perfectly peaceful and quiet when I was there.

    The staff is great reception and house cleaners where super nice and did there best to make sure guest were good ,the mattress was comfy but the pillows were not, breakfast was 7/10, near the beach and legoland.
