It’s a lovely, safe town with a beach on the lakefront, a great university campus, lots of good restaurants, and easy access to Chicago, one of my favorite cities. Quiet, civilized, safe, attractive and well maintained. Walkable / bikeable. Polite and friendly. The beaches and parks on Lake Michigan are a pleasant find.
