Hermann is an amazing historical City location right on the Missouri River. Founded by German immigrants in the mid-1800’s there are vineyards and wineries, distilleries, craft breweries, coffee houses, ice cream parlors, boutique and antique shops, and a variety of restaurants and eateries. Our personal favorite was Wurst Haus for lunch. An authentic German treat…come hungry, portions are generous! We've stayed in Hermann both in 2022 and 2021 on cross-country road trips because of the nearby biking on the KATY Trail. We love the wineries--although buying wine in the small shops is a better deal than the pricey tastings--and the overall quiet small town vibe. The biggest disappointment, though, is that there is no real German restaurant in the town that boasts its German immigrant heritage.Guest review byJudithUnited States
