I had a wonderful solo stay at the Cozy Coastal Hangout! The pool and spa were my favorite spots to unwind, and getting around Oceanside was super easy — everything was just a short drive away. I loved grabbing bites at Hello Betty and Beach Break Café, and spent my days exploring the pier, local shops, and watching the sunset by the beach. Super amazing people. I met another runner, and we had a very long conversation about one of the runs he did in Arizona. We were total strangers and had the best time talking. Oceanside is a growing city along the ocean with many restaurants etc. It's very walkable if you are in the downtown area. There is plenty to do but if it's not your vibe, there are many nearby places to entertain yourself. Close to ocean, mountains, desert, casinos, Legoland, Disneyland, and San Diego places such as zoo, Balboa Park, or Seaworld. We loved the cllimate.
We loved the cllimate. The sea air was refreshing compared to the 95 degree heat we left behind in San Fernando Valley. The town definitely has a military feel to it due to its proximity to Camp Pendleton. God Bless our troops! Mission San Luis Rey was fascinating. Excellent choice for a family or two.
Excellent choice for a family or two. We stayed with two families of 5 (10 people total) and this was a much better option compared to booking several hotel rooms with children.
