Everything! Were going back in December 28! For the past 30 years we had gone to the Bee and Thistle Inn which has closed. We are so pleased to have found the Copper Beach Inn which we have recommended to ourvgriends who previously went to us to the “Bee”. One of our friends, the Browns, will be joining us at our new favorite, Copper Beech Inn on Devember 28!

A beautiful slice of rustic CT, without malls or franchise restaurants. A long time artist colony with gorgeous views of untouched marshlands and LI Sound promenades. Accessible to major cities, but feels distant from the crowds and pace. I'm sure we will be back.

Very Accommodating, friendly staff which bent over backwards to help us learn about the historic area. This inn is directly across the street from 2 painting galleries and of course, the Griswold Art Museum and gardens! The periwinkle ground cover and daffodils were all in bloom! Don't pass up this great place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. Our rooms were lovely. Very large and cozy. The fireplace was wonderful. The food was great. My favorite part of our stay was the morning live jazz at breakfast. The owner was part band and it was a sweet touch. We were with 8 people and our stay could not have been better.

Charming town full of history and the connection to the American Impressionism group. While my purpose to be in the area was to enjoy the show at Ivoryton Playhouse, which is the oldest continuing summer theater ( now year round ), you can get to the shore easily. Old Saybrook, Westbrook, Niantic, Mystic, NewLondon etc…. Chester is wonderful to grab a delicious baked good! Only 40 mins from West Hartford too.

This town is interesting - a very fancy, small town.

This town is interesting - a very fancy, small town. The Florence Griswald Museum is beautiful and worth the trip. There are several art museums, and places to participate in lessons and actually create fine art. There are hiking trails, a great place for a massage, and a lot of charm. It is proximate the the water, and you can kayak or participate in boating. There are amazing biking trails. Old Lyme is worth a visit.
