The place was amazing!!:) Looks just like in the pictures.. The staff were very nice and helpful, especially Cynthia and Lulu! Thank you very much!!! I extended my stay twice because of a flight cancelation, and was very happy to stay at the same place! The room was very lovely, it was equipped with everything I needed, especially the coffee machine ;-) The bed was so comfortable, and everything was just wonderful! The location was perfect for me, right in downtown, close to public transportation, restaurants and shops.

FAQs about hotels in San Diego

The Art of Easy Living

Sweeping along the coast against a mountain backdrop, San Diego has easy living down to a fine art. Its wonderful beaches and mild climate make it a favorite spring break destination, and with over 40 city breweries, there are plenty of ice cold beers to set the mood.

The city’s most recognizable landmark is the Hotel del Coronado, a wooden Victorian beach resort, now a National Historic Landmark. As original Spanish mission and first in California, it's has been relocated to the Mission Valley area, and Old Town San Diego still has many Colonial buildings and quirky shops. Also great for shopping are Horton Plaza and the boutiques in the beachfront neighborhoods.

The city’s most famous attraction is its zoo in Balboa Park, a few blocks from San Diego International Airport. One of the world’s largest zoos, it is well worth a visit, as is the fantastic SeaWorld, home to several killer whales. To see wildlife in its natural habitat head to La Jolla beach where harbor seals rest, or watch whales in season from Point Loma Lighthouse.

Just over the border from Mexico’s Tijuana, San Diego has a distinctly Latin American vibe and a variety of accommodations encompassing apartments, motels, B&Bs and hotels. See Booking.com for the best deals.

While I definitely have a soft spot for San Diego and visit...

While I definitely have a soft spot for San Diego and visit fairly often, it has gotten more run down in the last 10 years. Mission Beach and Pacific Beach have gotten pretty trashy. The area is mostly for young people looking to get drunk, loud and obnoxious. I prefer the Gaslamp and Seaport Village area but those areas do have issues with homeless people hanging around the area. I think the best area in San Diego is the Torrey Pines area and Coronado Island, both of which I highly recommend staying at if you go to San Diego.

I stayed overnight to catch a show at the Old Globe in Balboa Park. Loved the theater. The park is AMAZING. Restaurants in the area were terrific. The next morning walked the Seven Bridges Trail and saw a lot of San Diego around the park. It was long (over 5 miles) but educational. Looking forward to coming back again sometime.

very walkable and even better on a bike , including getting to Coronado island, which I highly recommend. Balboa park is great / one of the best I have visited in any City and also say a 30 min walk from down town. Only down side is the number of street people ! - everywhere from down town to Balboa park. One other negative are the extra service and /or credit card fees on most all bills - not used to that - why not increase the prices and be transparent ??

San Diego is a perfect place to live and a perfect get away place to stay! You get the best of both worlds here. Everything is within you’re reach. You can chill and relax at the beach while basking in the sun or get the fast pace city living by going down town. All of that with crème de la crème of all year round of perfect sunny weather!

My first time in San Diego and was not disappointed.

My first time in San Diego and was not disappointed. Great weather, friendly people, felt very safe walking about. A few homeless people, but they seem to keep themselves to themselves. Easy to get around on the new trams. Busses are $2.50 flat fare, reliable and plentiful. And train services across California. Compact city, so quick to get around. The harbour front is great with a long promenade from the airport all the way to Seaport Village, with great views, and plenty of restaurants. Can recommend the seafood at the "Dockside" upstairs near the Star of India sailing ship. Also walked to downtown and found a great cafe "The Corner Bakery Cafe" on Broadway, fantastic food! We visited the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier, amazing, and took a 2 hour harbour with Flagship Cruises. Also took the Trolley Tour hop on and off bus with commentary. It visits all the main attractions on a loop service, great for first time to get to know the area. Be sure to pick up leaflets with discount vouchers in many food outlets. At the harbour front there is a kiosk where you can get discounts on some attractions. Went to the zoo which was a great day out. I'd not seen Polar Bears or Pandas before. The Orang-Utans were hilarious! You must also visit Coronado Island, great food and beaches. Easy to reach by bus via the toll free bridge.

I was in San Diego for a conference in the convention center. I was looking for an affordable place which is close to the center. With this accommodation I found exactly what I wanted. My room was really big and offered everything I needed. Also that the hotel is situated in the gaslamp quater was really nice, since you did not have to walk too far at night after dinner and drinks. Finally, I think the staff is doing a really great job! They were super nice and helpful, always in a good mood and made you a feel safe and welcome.

We have stayed at this property previously which is why we chose it again this trip. We really liked the location of our room which was overlooking the pool area, we had a balcony so that was nice. The room was quite spacious except for the bathroom. The hotel is in a really great location and accessible to the freeways, generally only a 15min drive to most attractions in San Diego.
