Our experience at this lodge was hands down wonderful. The room was spacious&clean and had an amazing view to the river. The nature around was beautiful. The whole experience felt really private. We booked a guided tour and a game drive which was also very private. The ranger who ran the activities was simply wonderful. He shared his deep knowledge in flora & fauna, we really enjoyed our time with him. We saw a variety of animals, not only on the guided tours but as well as just walking around property. The value for money is just insanely good. +The food was delicious! Best wishes to Dean & Fay who really cared to make our time at the lodge memorable. Would love to come back. Thank you!

It was one of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed in for a long time. Although the photos already looked stunning, the reality far surpassed our expectations. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff with freshly made roosterkoek and vetkoek. The cabin was beautifully furnished and decorated, striking the perfect balance between nature and luxury. The bed and linen were exceptionally comfortable and of outstanding quality. This truly is the ideal destination for a disconnected weekend or holiday — the perfect place to reconnect with nature while enjoying ultimate comfort and luxury.

The location: An amazing view, far enough from Grahamstown for peace and tranquility but close enough for comfort. The accommodation: Stunning little cottage with all the amenities that you need. Solar powered which meant no loadshedding! Overall: A little gem in the mountains that is worth every cent paid.

The hosts had incredibly beautiful souls and were very kind. The rooms were stunningly beautiful and clean, each accompanied by a thoughtful booklet crafted by the hosts, providing valuable insights into Grahamstown. The place exudes tranquility, especially the pool area, where the host generously offered us fruit as we enjoyed their captivating estate. The Wi-Fi is exceptional, paired with DSTV in every room—words fall short; booking with them is a decision you won't regret.

The historical aspects were fascinating, especially the old Churches and cathedrals. These are largely untouched from the general significant decline in basic services. We were only there for a sporting event. Not sure it is a place we would consider a holiday destination.

Grahamstown has amazing old buildings and history. BUT the roads are a disaster !! Giant potholes everywhere and some of the roads you have to actually look for the tar that is left. The municipality should be ashamed. African road between 3 biggest private schools is abysmal

The Grahamstown Art festival was the attraction.

The Grahamstown Art festival was the attraction. Grahamstown, being an academic hub, has the potential to do more to attract visitors. This will surely boost the much needed economic drive. We popped in at the local Steers around 19h00 on our way home. The eatery was quite busy but service a bit slow.

Our accomodation was basic: spacious but simple, no frills fittings. The table and chairs were much appreciated. The lounge furniture was too low and uncomfortable. I was surprised to find no reception area. The restaurant served a truly memorable breakfast and catered to our gluten free dietary needs. I suggest a no glass at the swimming pool policy. The history of the buildings was very interesting. It's 30 minutes outside Grahamstown, so not easy to pick up some groceries, but close to private game farms for booked tours.

The hosts are friendly and extremely accommodating of all our requests. The accommodation is spacious, clean and every possible detail thought of and provided for. The view from the deck is amazing! Walking out with delicious coffee, from the fully equipped kitchen, to see Grahamstown from above, surrounded by birdsong and greenery! Will definitely make this our go-to spot when visiting Grahamstown!
