The location is absolutely great.. just a word of advice... of driving from Oudtshoorn, don't take the Pass jnless you have an SUV, we nearly got stuck and had some hair raising moments. Jaque was amazing! My mum forgot her beloved watch at the property and he went to lok for it and posted it to us free of charge. He didn't have to do this. I was impressed by the honesty and professionalism. Would definitely stay here again as it was such an amazing location, staff are friendly and the beds super comfy with air conditioning too... And we had some animals come out to say goodmorning which was such a highlight!

Second time staying here. It’s the best place of many that I’ve stayed at in Prince Albert. Everything is so comfortable, so well thought out, beautifully furnished and just lovely to spend time in. Whether you’re working, relaxing, having a siesta, enjoying wine by the pool or playing games or reading in the lounge. This is a perfect stay.

Totally exceeded my expectations. Lovely clean room with beautiful furnishings, super-comfy bed. Good wifi, excellent 'proper' coffee and the most delicious rusks! Johan was wonderful, as was his team. Loadshedding wasn't an issue at all, as it just went straight onto his back up power. Really hope I can visit again soon.

Fabulous stay. The room was amazing. All the small bits and pieces were top-notch. The hosts were most friendly and pleasant. The breakfast was beautifully set up and the food and coffee were the best we've had so far. Inga recommended and booked an outstanding restaurant, Jeremy's, and took us to a local community centre (I encourage anyone to visit that incredible place).

The village is charming and typical of a Karoo town.

The village is charming and typical of a Karoo town. Two nights and a day to see everything is adequate. It's preferable to choose accommodation in the village allowing one to walk to the various places of interest.

Prince Albert is a beautifully well kept and maintained small Karoo town at the foot of the Swartberg Pass. With many accommodation options, a number of really good restaurants and coffee shops, and art/curio shops, it is a wonderful place for a long weekend break, or an extended stay when passing through. We stayed at the Olive Thrush Cottage, just a short walk from the Main Street, and it was very peaceful and comfortable. We ate at the Rude Chef restaurant for dinner - very relaxed and with great food and a great vibe. The Swartberg Hotel is across the street is also excellent, with a groovy gin bar and very nice coffee shop. Walking around Prince Albert is the way to see the town properly, and visitors should include the short traverse up and along the Robert Gordon Koppie ridge walk which give amazing views of the surrounding mountains and of the town. It's an easy and short climb with a well marked path - highly recommended. When heading south from Prince Albert, we recommend taking the Swartberg Pass for the views - it is gravel and a bit steep in places with tight hairpin bends, but can be taken in a normal car - no need for 4x4.

I have stayed in Prince Albert about 4 times now and the accomodation is not up to the standard of the photo's of the venue's. I am thinking that Prince Albert is becoming overrated and accommodation (for what you get is becoming exhorbitant).

Prince Albert is a must visit. It’s a quaint little town offering loads of charm and character. Surrounded by gorgeous mountain ranges and charming restaurants serving home made deliciousness from yummy pizzas to scrumptious burgers and don’t get me started on the home baked goodies. Acacia Cottage is in walking distance to Prince Albert center, which is a "safe" town, but the setting with a view to grass land from the stoep gives you the feeling to stay at country side. The cottage is very comfortable, having all needed for a self-catering stay. The host is always available, very friendly and having alway helpful tips to explore the area. We can highly recommend to stay there and will be back soon!!

Peter was a very friendly and informative host. It's on the edge of town, slightly Bohemian and very Green which we respect and try to be. Parking outside our tiny cottage was easy. We were comfortable overnight but not there much in the day as there is quite a lot to do in Prince Albert. Recommend the Lazy Lizard cafe especially.
