The peace and serenity of nature with the continuous background sound of the river was out of this world. Could really "switch" off and just recharge. The layout of the unit as well as the outdoor facilities (braai) was ideal to make full use of the surrounding nature and close proximity of the river. We actually swam in the river (on our 2nd visit) :-)

This place was phenomenal!!! The staff was friendly, the food from the restaurant for dinner was delicious. Breakfast was plentiful, rooms were clean and the view was incredible.

Located in Alkmaar, Caracal Lodge has accommodations with an outdoor pool, a terrace and a bar. There's also a kitchen in some of the units equipped with an a fridge, an an oven, and an a microwave.

The Magtree lodge is fantastic and really secluded and the surrounding nature and wildlife (giraffes!) is stunning. Loved the layout of the place and the kitchen had everything we needed too cook our meals. Really love the fact that the fireplace also doubles as a braai, for rainy days. Absolutely love the warm welcome from Craig and the recreational area. Love the fact that I didn't have to worry about getting wood for the braai and fireplace fire. While we were there on mostly rainy days, we made use of the splash pool which would come in really handy when you're visiting in the summer. Also dogs! If you love dogs, this is the place for you!
