I absolutely loved the garden and the breathtaking mountain views! The accommodation is perfectly situated—whether you're planning to hike or head up to Lesotho, the location couldn’t be better. The hosts were fantastic—warm, incredibly helpful, and always willing to answer any questions we had. The kitchen is beautiful and well-equipped, including an air fryer which is ideal for preparing light meals. That said, there are also several great restaurants nearby if you’d prefer to eat out. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully fitted with a heater to keep it cosy during winter. The full bathroom was a lovely bonus, perfect for a relaxing bath or a refreshing shower. Overall, a peaceful and comfortable stay—I’d highly recommend it!

It is an excellent quiet and safe place. I traveled with my family. We did night sky gazing and woke up early to watch the birds. The rooms and beds were comfy. Hot shower water was comforting.

It is close to the famous Sani Pass, where 4X4 enthusiasts can ascend one of the highest and most scenic trails in Southern Africa. Potholes are ridiculous getting to underberg.

Potholes are ridiculous getting to underberg. So many & close to each other. Definitely cause damage to your car tires / rims. Once to get to underberg, spar and other stores are convenient. Being close to the berg is beautiful

It was the most plesant surprise - Underberg and especially...

It was the most plesant surprise - Underberg and especially Himeville was the cherry on the cake. The views of the Drakensberg is spectacular. Underberg has all the shops you need to buy groceries. Himeville and the lake just outside the town and the museum is a definate "Must" We had a picknic at the lake. Also used the local tour company to go up Sani Pass - what an experience. Words cannot describe the beauty and the experience we had. In Lesotho we visited a local lady, where our guide gave us a talk on their culture and we ate a nice hot "potbrood" The Highest pub in Africa was closed, but we had a great buffet lunch at a local restaurant in Lesotho. - Highly recommend to visit this jewel hidden in the Drakensberg. We went in the beginning of May and the autom colours was beautifull in all the different coloured oak trees.

The Town of Underberg is a small farming community.

The Town of Underberg is a small farming community. The town is small but has everything you need… restaurants, Spar food market, liquor store , hardware, pharmacy etc The Town is surrounded by the most spectacular mountains and a large beautiful river. Lots of hikes, cycle tracks , river tubing… a stunning mountain range

Getting to Underberg from the city may take 2 and a half...

Getting to Underberg from the city may take 2 and a half hours (from Durban), but the trip is absolutely worth it. If you love the outdoors there is so much to do in terms of hiking, walking, river tubing or mountain biking. There is also golf, Padel and many trails to run.

It's a small town with only a few restaurants open for...

It's a small town with only a few restaurants open for dinner. There is a supermarket so you can make your own; you just need to be prepared. There are beautiful areas around the town, but center isn't that spectacular.

Absolutely stunning! This property exceeded all expectations! The hosts, Virginia and John went above and beyond for us and were so accommodating, and their three gorgeous doggies were a huge bonus. If you love comfort, a mountain view and animals, this place is the place for you. My wife and I frequent Underberg quite often and have stayed in plenty places, and we can easily say that this was our favorite place of them all. We will be back for sure!

This fully self catering cottage was well appointed and situated on the quiet outskirts of Underberg. Very nicely appointed, with everything one needs and a lovely view of the Moluti mountains in the distance. Host Barry was friendly and chatty. We ate dinner at the country club over the road which was very good. No breakfast was offered as per their advert. I would be happy to stay there again.

We stayed in the small cottage (annex). It is extremely well equipped with Airfryer, stove and microwave, cutlery, even with a cheese grater. Additional blankets and radiator to have the cottage heated in cold Underberg. sue was very helpful and responsive.
