Perched on a hill with a panoramic view of Nyungwe forest, this is the perfect base for exploring the surrounding national park. The pictures online don’t do this place justice! We had a wonderful stay for 2 nights here - from a delicious welcome drink on our arrival to cleaning our boots after a days hiking and hot water bottles in the beds at night, the staff were all excellent! The food was great and we were offered a choice of taking our breakfast early before chimpanzee tracking or taking it to go - normally packed hotel breakfasts are disappointing but this was one of the best - freshly prepared fruit, pizza, cookies and cakes - it was delicious and perfect after a mornings hiking! If you are coming to Nyungwe Forest National Park (which is a must if you visit Rwanda!) then you absolutely have to stay here! Thank you to all of the staff who made our time here special!

Set in Kagano, 42 km from Nyungwe Forest National Park, Eben Lake Kivu cottages and Villas offers accommodation with a garden and free private parking. The hotel features family rooms. First off, this hotel is a hidden gem. Our tour company recommended their own suggestions and we were not pleased with them so we did our own research and I found this place. Wow! First off, it’s beautifully located right on Lake Kivu and is so relaxed and feels very safe with their own security. The room is beautiful, spacious, and has a great bathroom and patio. Moreover, the staff was outstanding and so attentive and communicative. And the food was outstanding on property. Breakfast is included so make sure to enjoy it. We also loved our dinner.

Nature Kigali is a friendly and relaxed hotel , convenient for the airport and conference centre. The food was of very high quality. I stayed a few times when I returned to Kigali after visiting different areas of the country. It was a home from home. I will recommend it as a place to stay for any friends visiting the country. The staff were very helpful with a special mention for Tracy for all her efforts sorting out my trips

Umutuzo Lodge Kivu Lake features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a private beach area and shared lounge in Buhoro. The property has a terrace, as well as a bar. This is a stay that I have never experienced before, exceptional is an understatement. We couldn’t have picked a better place for our honeymoon, and I am genuinely convinced that this tops all other lodges. If you want to experience Rwanda up close and personal, and also realistic, this is the place. You will surely feel at home and private. One tip, if you plan to reach the lodge by self-driving a car, a SUV is a must. Otherwise, there are options for airport pick up even from Kigali for a fee. There are various activities offered by the lodge which are worthwhile and a full-board dining is most definitely recommended. Overall, we are coming back 10/10.
