There is free private parking and the property features paid airport shuttle service. Briarwood is such a gem! The owners and staff were lovely, and the breakfast was beyond expectations. Although situated in the middle of a town, the property wonderfully feels miles away from anything. It's expansive, peaceful, and a place to which we will return the next time we're in Canada.

The accommodation offers luggage storage space and a concierge service for guests. Fantastic historical inn (c. 1770) in a quaint, quiet part of the island. Spectacular location right on the water, with Adirondack chairs for sitting and soaking in the views of the tidal swings. The innkeeper is very particular in keeping the place clean, and the decor is well appointed with original features, updated bathrooms, comfortable beds and quality linens and bath products, and very well maintained. Her homemade breakfasts were stellar - fresh fruit, homemade breads and pastries, and a main egg dish. She is a little gruff but kind, and she offered super advice on where to eat, what to do, where to go in the area.

All guest rooms include a wardrobe. Stayed two nights. Beautiful Inn, Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site is a must. Uisge Bàn Falls Provincial Park close by and a great hike. We also went to The Baddeck Gathering Ceilidh to enjoy traditional Cape Breton fiddle music, song and dance.

Decorated with locally inspired artwork, each room features a flat-screen cable TV, coffee machine and ironing facilities. Free toiletries and a hairdryer stock the private bathroom. Some rooms have a view of Halifax harbour. The breakfast was such a plus. The only thing I found that I think needs addressing is the bed. The mattress itself was comfortable but the frame was very flimsy and shakey. If I even coughed , the whole bed moved. Everytime I moved , even a little , my husband was woke up and vise versa. Nothing a solid frame couldnt fix. Other than that , the rooms were a good size , very clean and cozy. The location was perfect for a casino visit to the city and the staff at the front counter , well so friendly and accommodating.

The Public Gardens are across from this hotel. Excellent location close to restaurants and having a good restaurant themselves. Our room was large and clean and well stocked with what you would expect. Heating and air conditioning worked well and hot water right away. Parking was close and enclosed.
