In the centre of Callander, which is set in The Trossachs National Park, this Georgian town house provides individually styled rooms with free Wi-Fi and home-cooked breakfasts.

Rooms at the Highland House Hotel each have a flat-screen cable TV, clock radio and free tea and coffee. Every room has a private bathroom, whilst many also retain some of the building’s original features. It was clean and close to town. Parking was available and included hot breakfast. Jan was so lovely.

Set on the slopes of Ochil Hill, the 19th-century Broomhall Castle Hotel features charming rooms, some with four-poster beds. The historical city of Stirling is just 5 miles away.

The Castle offers charming en suite rooms with solid wooden beds, a TV and tea/coffee facilities. A full cooked breakfast is provided. The hotel is lovely, located in a wonderful spot above a small, quiet town. The staff was very kind and helpful, the rooms were special and enchanting, and the dinner was delicious! Keep in mind there's no elevator, so you should travel light (although the staff members helped us carry our luggage). I recommend taking a walk up the hill in the afternoon, it's just a great light walk, and if you're heading toward north-east - I suggest you take the countryside road, it's charming!

Ideally situated to explore the natural beauty of the Trossachs National Park, this charming hotel is set in Callendar, at the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’.

Offering comfortable en suite rooms, equipped with all facilities needed for a relaxing stay, the Waverley Hotel also features a bar. A member of CAMRA and winner of the Forth Valley Pub of the Year 2006, the bar is a favourite among locals and serves cask ales, lagers and malt whiskies. Comfortable beds, clean rooms. We went for dinner in the bar and it was amazing with live music and good drinks. Really recommend it’s lovely place to stay.

The luxurious Victoria Square and the Orangery Restaurant shares the elegance of this desirable area of Stirling, with a selection of distinctly styled en suite rooms. Limited on-site parking and Free Wi-Fi are available at Victoria Square, just 4 minutes drive from the majestic Stirling Castle.. I have never reviewed a hotel in my life, despite staying in hundreds. Albeit I sadly was not there long, this hotel was truly fabulous, such a pleasant surprise after a busy day travelling.
