The upstairs lounge was nice for sitting and had hot water for tea and coffee. The whole house, especially the downstairs, was covered in unique and delightful decorations! Every surface had something charming, and the upstairs guest spaces had enough to delight but not so many that it interfered with using the space. The location is a bit far from Hakodate station, but in the middle of the historic downtown and walking distance from museums and sightseeing.

The bright rooms at Hotel Sonia Otaru feature a seating area and furnishings with an antique look. They are equipped with a TV, refrigerator and air purifier. Each room comes with en suite bathroom. The front desk staff were so helpful and very, very friendly. I felt I was really at home. Because the staff was extra friendly to me I will come back next year and bring my family and two other families. Thank you again to the staff. The room was excellent nice view of the canal very clean and very comfortable.

We could left our luggage before check in time and after check out time. Staffs were very helpful.
