How often do you get the chance to live in a palace? This was the palace where Charles the Bold and his daughter Mary of Burgundy lived (and indeed where she passed). The hotel is beautiful and is nicely located in Bruges, close to everything but not in the middle of it all. That is to say, you get the best of both worlds. Our room had a city view with big windows, allowing you to see the entire Bruges skyline, listen to the bells, and see one of the golden statues of the Duke’s Palace that adorn the roofline. The bathroom was spacious and had a separate bathtub and shower cabin. There was a window from the bathroom into the main room, which was nice. Breakfast had many options, including a station where you could carve your own Belgium chocolate (dark, milk, and white) with a two-handled knife! There were lots of fresh fruit options, waffles, and even sparkling wine. Many standard breakfast foods were available in the buffet, but omelets and lactose-free coffee options are available when you ask. The back room of the dining area is a little dark and not as nice as the front part, which has a wall of windows which allows you to see the palace while you eat. A coffeemaker is in the room, and we asked for a tea kettle and bottle opener from the front desk. There is a nice souvenir store just around the corner that stays open later than the other stores and sells a good variety of Belgium beers (and other things). We enjoyed staying in the Palace and it added to the experience of being in historic Bruges.

Very stylish hotel in the centre of Brugge. Comfy room, superb breakfast. The bar is a fabolous place to spend an evening.

Perfect location. Very kind and helpful staff. Private parking. Very rich breakfast. The room was quite and comfortable. We had dinner at hotel restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant as we got everything we wished. The waiter was very helpful and attentive.

Beautifully restored historic building. The family that runs this guest house takes pride in the space and their hospitality. Lovely stay.

The whole hotel and room style can satisfy my fantasy of European classical style as an Asian, which is very worthwhile! What's more rare is that an elder brother of the hotel waited for me to check in at 11 o'clock in the evening. Every employee was very friendly and helped me arrange the family room together and added a bed for my daughter! I decided to stay one more day because the hotel staff gave me such a good feeling!

Fabulous hotel with ditto facilities and staff. The situation is absolutely perfect and our spacious room had a wonderful view over the Dijver. Great comfortable bed; breakfast and service excellent; super bar and spa. Highly recommend.
