The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. It was really quiet as well. The bathroom was modern (Japanese toilet). Breakfast was outstanding! And the service both at the restaurant and the reception were really good. Great staff! Finally, location, location, location. A short walk away from Nanjing Road and the metro station at the People's Park. All the buzz and none of the noise. Fantastic stay

Having been going to Shanghai in the past 20 years and have stayed at many five star hotels, I now think Puli Hotel & Spa is my favourite hotel for its impeccable facilities and thoughtful service. The staff is always welcoming and helpful, from the bell boys to receptionists to bar tenders. Also, I had the best margarita mixed by Eden, a brilliant, young and pleasant mixologist at the bar.

No doubt about rating this hotels. I would give 20 if this was allowed. Everything above expectations. Design (art deco), room quality with the highest appreciation to every detail. We had an impeccable experience at Sukhothai Hotel. Without a doubt, it will be our top choice for accommodation on our next trip to Shanghai! While a few guests voiced concerns about the breakfast buffet in their reviews, I found the array of choices to be delightful. Although it may not boast the extensive variety like some other hotels, the selection was more than sufficient for our family. Each dish was delicious and made with fresh ingredients.

I liked everything about it. location was great for my one-day-only stay in Shanghai this time. I got a room upgrade so had basically a suite. interior is superb. the staff at reception as well as their concierge were extremely helpful as I don't have any workable Chinese. They stored my luggage for the day (free service), gave travel advice, called taxi etc pp. I am planning to stay there again on my next trip to Shanghai.

The location, the comfortable rooms, the view and the kind staff - particularly the concierge desk in the person of Vivian who made a note and remembered to book a restaurant for us on the very day and time the bookings were opening. And this is great service even before we arrived. The spa/gym and pool areas are very clean and the staff are very nice making sure you have a great experience. It’s without doubt not a cheap hotel but worth the quality of a 5 star. The room view on the bund was second to none and better than most of the other hotels and restaurants around. So much that when we arrived we decided to have room service with that view instead of heading out. Food also is great with a vast choice. Everything in the room and in the services offered is made to make your stay comfortable. In particular the rooms are beautifully furnished and very sound proof for a great sleep. We felt very relaxed in the room, even if it’s directly opposite the hustle and bustle of the Bund. We do travel a lot as a family for leisure and as individuals for work and I must say this is one of the best hotels I stayed at without them boasting too much about it. Which makes this property special. It’s a chain but with a top end boutique hotel approach. Very recommended to have a top stay in Shanghai.
