Really nice apartment, clean and cozy, really value for money. The best stay in Kyoto. It's not near the city center but has bus stop in just 2min walk. I'll definitely recommend to my friends and family, also will be my first choice in my next visit in Kyoto.

If I could rate this place an 11 I would!
The apartment is so beautifully decorated with tasteful Japanese artwork and craftsmanship. The shower and bathroom facilties are great. We even had our private onsen, we could use 24/7. The kitchen was great. You sleep on the tatami matts. We used an extra mattress which made the bed very comfortable. The duvets and bed linen were of high quality. We receive a Japanese pyjamas to sleep in. It is in working distance to the golden pavillon. The buses go every 5-10 minutes, so it was very easy to get around. The host and hostess were so friendly and took care of all our needs. The hostess even washed all our clothes free of charge before we left. This has been our best booking sofar. We felt very much at home!

We absolutely loved this place. It's stunning and taken care of to the minimum detail. Ken Kun House is not only beautiful but also very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need and more and the beds are super comfortable. I would come back again for sure, actually, I wish I could live there! The house is also very easy to reach by public transport, we took the bus every day. There are delicious bakeries in the area and supermarkets!

This house was fun! A machiya of the 21st century, full of gadgets, quirky and amazing, with every niche giving a different surprise. We loved the garden, had some dinners outside looking into it. We LOVED to use the bikes around the neighbohood, especially going to the bathouse, temples and restaurants - that made us feel really like the locals. The nearby Kyoto-style restaurant, and its next door sushi place are amazing. The location of the house is great - quiet old neigbohood, close to the center and ideal point from which to explore such a special city/province.
Offering free WiFi and free private parking, someya - Vacation STAY 33875v is situated in Kyoto, just 1.9 km from Kinkaku-ji Temple.

Kumiko was so friendly and the house is very traditional and cosy. The location is up in the mountains so it’s really peaceful, we got the bus and it was easy as we didn’t have much luggage. Both bedrooms were comfortable, the house has lots of amenities, and it was spotlessly clean.
Nenrinbo is a ryokan in a quiet location surrounded by the mountains of Kyoto and features a beautiful garden with seasonal colors.Renovated in April 2018, it displays various artworks in the hotel...

It was a great experience: ryokan itself, the staff, the breakfast (so much cool plates), the room - everything exceeded our expectations. The futon mattresses were not bad for us as foreigners and we slept really well.
After reading previous reviews I had an impression it would be very far away in the woods or sth but it is not and you can easily get there by bus from Kyoto station, which was very surprising (the ride takes around 40 mins but still you take just one line and that's it).
If you wish to spend a night in a traditional way that is your place!
