We chose a villa room. The location, deep in the mountain wilderness, is superb. Great hiking. The facility is beautiful. The meals are superb. The staff are lovely. The nicest onsen we've seen and there are some mixed bathing areas which is great for couples. If you are prepared to travel there (we travelled from Kyoto which was a long day of trains and buses) you will not be disappointed.

With the fire it was really warm at night, and perfect for a relaxing evening. Property was really clean inside, and had excellent facilities for outdoor BBQ. Standout feature was stargazing at night, there’s low light pollution and with clear skies we could see everything. The woodworking shop next door had some interesting pieces, and the cafe food was delicious. We went hiking in Oze park, Miike parking lot is <1 hour drive. Would definitely stay again if visiting the area!

Staff and set course meals were terrific. Our waiter used a translator app to tell us about the various foods that were included in our set course meals. Great service and a lot of attention for us.
