This was an amazing cultural experience. The lady was very welcoming and made sure we had a pleasant stay by cooking amazing meals and breakfast. We had the normal meal on the first evening and a vegetarian meal on the second evening while wearing the yukata's that were provided. Both meals were fantastic. The area is quiet and beautiful.
At the snow monkey park we saw three monkeys, which was a nice surprise since it wasn't very cold that day.
We enjoyed the onsen. The smaller one is hot but very nice once you get used to it.
If you're planning to visit the snow monkeys we definitely recommend staying at yudanaka yasuragi for an amazing japanese stay.

The hospitality was great, the location is stunning and the ryokan itself is very comfortable and makes you feel at home. We had dinner and breakfast and they were able to accommodate one of us being vegan with both meals being delicious. The onsens are very quiet and very well maintained, and can be used for free by the ryokan's guests. Akira-san also offered to take us to both the snow monkeys resort and the station, which was great.

The couple who runs the place were so nice and friendly. On top of shuttling us to the monkey park, they loaned us rubber boots to wear for the hike up because it was pretty muddy at the time. Our room on the fourth floor had its own bath and a balcony with a view, and the futons we slept on were super comfortable. There’s an onsen in the building and a public one outside not too far away, and we made full use of both! I especially liked the variety of yukata patterns we could choose. Upon checkout, we were given a cute five yen coin ribbon charm to take home ☺️
