Guest House Pura Vida was our favourite stay in a month of travelling in Costa Rica. We loved meeting and chatting with our hosts Jorge and Pamela who, thanks to their own love and experiences of traveling, put a lot of thought and care into creating a welcoming place for travellers. This was especially evident by the common areas such as the kitchen, which was beautifully arranged over a second-storey balcony. There was some secret sauce that made the space extra-inviting and we had many easy and warm interactions with other guests. Our room was surprisingly spacious and had lots of neat decorative touches to make it feel like home. The property itself was beautiful, with amazing views of the mountains from the common areas, a tree in the courtyard where macaws would visit, and a little stream behind the property. The location, just a few minutes up the hill from the town centre, was quiet and safe (parking either inside the courtyard, or out front on a quiet gravel road). Finally, it's one of the cleanest places I have EVER stayed at, even compared to higher-end hotels etc. etc. I really couldn't ask for anything more if I tried!

The property was amazing – immersed in silence, with a beautiful pool perfect for relaxing. The kitchen was always clean and well-equipped, with coffee, sugar, salt, and oil available. Anthony was incredibly kind and always helpful. The room had air conditioning, everything was spotless, and the overall experience was excellent. I truly recommend it for a relaxing stay. We loved it so much that we decided to stay two extra days!

beautiful location and building, a pool with a view on the ocean and a great bed! very kind host. The location is on a hill where we could see the ocean from the pool. The garden has a lot of animals and is beautiful. The room is big enough and has a large bed of good quality with good sheets. The bathroom has a bath. The host is very helpful and kind. We loved our stay!

The apartment itself was amazing, it was spacious, had 2 hanging chairs so you could sit and look at the view if the ocean. The property was surrounded by trees and plants, where we could see Hummingbirds, a couple of macaws and the monkeys which visited the apartment in the morning and the evening. Frederico the host was helpful and was easily contactable if you needed anything. The property gad everything we needed. The location was perfect for us, only 15 minutes into town. Highly recommended

Very big apartment & clean. Private parking. Good location, close to the center. It was nice that we could do our own laundry! If you have detergent, you can use the laundry for free.

Lovely apartment, had everything I needed, good kitchen, including blender to make smoothies, spacious, nicely decorated, very cosy. Nice little private garden, where two parrots made their nest in the tree. Communication with host was fine, although mostly with app, no personal contact. My worry was that it would be inconvenient without a car, but that was no problem at all: you can walk to the main road, where there are frequent buses to the national parc and Manuel Antonio beach. I found it also easy to hitchhike when I missed the bus, parc and beach are the end of the road, and all cars go there. Teva hostel is near (walking distance) and has a nice (Moroccan) restaurant.

Lovely place to stay with very nice hosts. It was great to be right next to the rainforest (with capuchin monkeys!) and with a nice pool to relax in.

The apartment is perfectly located — waking up to the view of the jungle and seeing monkeys and other wildlife is such a joy! The hosts are absolutely lovely and always available if needed. The apartment is very well equipped, especially the kitchen, super clean and with hot water. We had a great stay!

This apartment is amazing! It is spacious with an incredible view of the forest and the sea. From our balcony we saw iguanas, agutis, different birds, geckos and one day a whole group of capuchin monkeys came to our porch :). The kitchen has all the necessary equipment. We also really liked the pool! It is in a shade, sorounded by trees, felt really amazing. The apartment is located in a quite street, just a short walk to a beach where there were almost no other people. Vivien, the host, is extremely hospitable, she was allways available and helped us with some great tips for restaurants and sightseening locations. We highly reccomend this place and we would definitely come back again!
