The garden had a lot of colorful plants. Shirani and the staff was very kind and always ready to help out with everything. I felt at home, the place has nice decoration.

It's a good hotel, not luxurious, but it's comfortable. The staff is very nice, the breakfast is good, and the room we stayed in was comfortable and has nice big windows. A great place to stay for a very good price!

We had a fantastic time at Casa Garibaldi Monteverde. The house had everything we needed. Enough rooms for all 5 of us (we were 3 adults and 2 children); 3 bedrooms in total in the house. The beds were comfortable and large; there was enough variety of blankets to chose from according to the weather. The house had no air conditioning and did not really need one, it was a pleasure to listen to the birds instead. There was a washing machine in the house, which we did not need to use (but can be very handy if needed). The view from front of the house was gorgeous. It was a very unique experience to sit to the private lookout early in the mornings and look around to the mountains surrounded by clouds!! Annie and Johnny did everything to make our stay pleasant. For this trip of ours we ended up not renting a car and forgot to inform the hosts about it (how smart, right?....). Well, Annie made sure that we always had a driver available to take us to our activities (5 people.... not 4!). She even used her own car once to drive us!! She is a very sweet person! Anything we needed we just asked Annie. We asked Annie for restaurants, where to purchase groceries, etc. She was always ready to help! I really recommend to ask Annie about activities weeks before your trip; she will make sure you get the best! If you like wildlife, I really recommend the night and day tours with Johnny. He is a certified natural guide and he knows a lot, a lot! Thanks to Johnny, we saw all sort of exotic animals in the forest on the first night in Monteverde. Just to mention a few, we saw a slot, two tarantulas, a toucan, a beautiful green snake (venomous of course), and many birds and a kinkajou (all these at the first night! My 7-year-old was really completely taken away). The next day, Johnny took us to a day tour animal watch. It was just unbelievable. Johnny was very quick to spot animals and through his telescope we saw rare exotic animals (quetzal, for example.

Very impressed by the design and layout of this property. Everything was very clean, breezy and well organized. There is no AC but there are oscillating fans in rooms and that was more than sufficient. The room I stayed in was a double bed, cozy space with a drawer for all your stuff, a coffee machine and a safe lock on the doors so it felt safe and worry free. WIFI was working great and was fast. Common kitchen area, the lobby and common sitting area were nicely set up, equipped and decorated. Location is in the center. Near to all the popular streets and boulevards with many restaurants, street food vendors, open markets, super markets, bars, clubs etc. It can get a bit noisy at night but San Jose is a lively city and this should be expected when booking accommodation downtown. They had a bad review from someone complaining about the noise but I have to disagree because if you're tired you'll sleep through anything and if you want complete silence then book something in suburban area.

Huge, modern and clean room with a king+ sized comfy bed. Right next to the bus station, 30 meters walk. Easy checkin, nice kitchen, nice lady who runs it and it was easily the best value for money we have gotten in the whole of Costa Rica. Shared living room and kitchen made us feel like we were at home chilling in our appartment, and the lady let us stay there as long as we wanted after checkout to wait for our plane.
