We stayed here for the third time. As usual it was an overnight stop during the long journey across half of Europe. Location: in the Schwarzwald (Black Forest), about 15 km from A5. Quiet, nice place. Definitely worth of diversion from the motorway. Could be also a good base to explore Black Forest mountains. In the walking distance (15 min) restaurant Hirsh, unfortunately closed this time. . Hotel: A typical Schwarzwald pension run by an English/German couple. The hotel is located at the slope and has nice view for mountains. The hotel offers maps and extensive tourist information about Black Forest. Stairs: No elevator in the hotel, our room was located at the second floor (ground floor = 0), but stairs were enough wide and comfortable. Room: big and functional, a terrace offers a nice view for mountains; electric sockets: easily accessible, also near the bed; lighting: good. Bed: large and comfortable, two duvets. Bathroom: heated, enough space for your toiletries, shower cabin was OK. Breakfast: very good, large selection of food, you may eat according to your preference both French style (sweets) and German style (meat and vegetables). WiFi: strong signal, fast. Staff: nice and helpful. Parking: free parking front of the hotel, at the street, safe.

Location was excellent as was the price. Very close walking distance to town. Room had a balcony which was very nice as well. There is a communal large refrigerator and a nice coffee machine on the second floor. Also has a microwave!

Hotel - Gasthof Blume is located in Oppenau amid green surroundings. It offers classically furnished rooms and a rustic restaurant. Free WiFi access is available.

This place was my favorite place out of 7 other places we stayed in Germany!!!!! Everything about it was a ten, beautiful location with mountains and grape vines all over. Rooms were large with balcony. Building was old but one of a kind ,simply beautiful in ever way. All of staff had smiles on their faces and made it feel like home. Walking distance up the road farmers sold apple juice ,apples ,grapes ,potatoes and much more 24hrs a day, Just leave money in tin. The large homemade apple and lemon juice for 2.75 Euro was unbelievable. Very relaxing and I could live there!!!!!

The owners are very friendly, attentive and helpful. They gave us crucial advices for dinner, local hiking spots, and (not) driving on to Strasbourg. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was fresh and rich. I absolutely recommend staying here.

A beautiful old house in the quiet town of Herrenwies. With a lovely garden and conservatory next to a burn, with swallows flying around in the Summer - heaven! But what's really special about this place is the host, Jörg, a lovely guy who puts his heart and soul into the delicious breakfast (with homemade marmelade, bread etc) and making you feel at home.
