The owners were incredibly lovely, they welcomed us quite late but we still had time to order dinner, which was delicious. We had the singapore-style chicken and it was amazing. The hospitality made us feel like long-lost friends - it was really incredible. We had breakfast there in the morning and they even made the bread themselves, it was soft and fluffy but toasted to perfection. After that, we felt more than ready for a long day of exploring the coast. I would definitely recommend staying here. However, as indicated in the booking, showers are shared. It is also slightly noisy with a large road nearby and some train tracks. Bring earplugs :) 100% would stay here again.

We had an awesome stay at Pumping Surf. If you like to do some surfing in Japan in a relaxing atmosphere you are at the perfect spot. Super cozy Hostel, nicely designed with all the light bulbs. Easy walk through the forest to the beach which was perfect for surfing. Great surfing lesson by the owner, who was super kind and skilled in teaching.

This guesthouse is located in the historical district of Mimitsu (Hyuga), which is a beautiful area. Kei is an amazing host, we talked quite a lot and it made my stay feel more like visiting a friend than anything. I'll be back soon!
