The location is perfect. Only 3 minutes walk to Kiyamachi dori, a old street along the Takase river, which is a famous location for Sakura viewing if you visit Japan by April. The hotel is by far my most favourite hotel in Japan. It feels like home. The room is spacious and comfort.

Haruka-san is a very welcoming person and is always there if you need anything. Staying here truly feels like living in Japan, not just like staying in a hotel. If you want to avoid crowded places while still having good connections, this is the perfect place to be.

It was actually rather larger for what we have been used to in Japan. The fact there is everything you need, the washing machine a huge plus in summer and close to the stations. Honestly, I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Also super quiet and felt extremely safe.

Beautifully designed room. Very clean. Great facilities even with washing machine for clothes. Lovely central neighbourhood, not too busy but interesting. Comfy beds. Quite spacious. Staff helpfully allowed us to check in early.

Everything about this guesthouse is amazing. It feels like home, the staff is the most kind and welcoming, it's clean, comfortable, well located, well designed and well furnished. For short and long stays I recommend, you won't want to leave after that.

Amazing location, in Gion, close to transportation but also very quiet with lots of great restaurants. We stayed in villa 1 with a deep ceramic bath. The Machiya is well stocked with a simple kitchen and microwave for breakfast. Love the little walk down to Tatsumi bridge and river (less than 100m) Familymart is 100m away and laundry service 2min walk. Staff were lovely and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend this place.

It’s in a quite area where you can reach there by bus only. Bus runs very frequently but it takes 1 hour to go to city. There are markets and restaurants. Some close early. Closest pub is 15 min by walk. Room is super cozy, they offer free bikes. There is venting machine outside.
