I loved my stay at Buna Kusatsu. The facility is well curated in every detail and it was great value for money. But what I loved the most was our host: she went above and beyond to help us with all our questions and was extremely supportive when on the checkout morning I was feeling unwell.

Where can I begin - what a wonderful stay! Our room on the second floor was very cosy. We enjoyed the traditional futon beds and felt comfortable and warm thanks to the heater. The shared bathrooms were clean and well equipped, and we never had issues with the other guests. The tea and coffee provided in the communal area was a nice touch and the home made breakfast was fantastic (and reasonably priced!). The hotel is located a minute walk away from the ski rental shop and main gondola, making it very convenient to get out on the slopes. It is also just a short walk down to all of the great bars, restaurants and public onsen that the town has to offer. Finally, a massive shout out to all of the team working at Schanze Nozawa. They have curated a space that truly felt like home and went above and beyond to help us make the most of our stay. They even organised a small birthday surprise which was the highlight of our stay!

Despite the heavy snowstorm disrupting transportation, they went above and beyond to assist us, ensuring we reached our destination smoothly. Their generosity didn’t stop there—they even brought our skis to the bus station, making our departure hassle-free. The warmth and hospitality we experienced made our trip even more special.
