The owners are so nice, we enjoyed our stay and can totally recommend this guesthouse. Really comfi and nice room with outdoor bathroom. Jungle feeling, especially in the morning when the monkeys set up there playground around the guest house. Really close to beach and sunset bar!

The staff are so friendly, the hostel dorm rooms are clean and spacious, the food is great and you can walk out into the surf. Extended my stay as I love it here.

Host family were so lovely. They have also just opened a restaurant which we had dinner at twice it was so good. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Air conditioning worked really well. Easy walk to the shops and beach.

Lovely and very big room on a quiet road but still close to the beach and village! We loved our time here. The room is big, the furniture high quality and our host Oshan and his brother helped us with every request. We would definitely come back! We also rented a motorbike and snorkeling gear for a small rate.

We had the pleasure of staying at Iresh’s brand-new Mount Side, and it was truly a fantastic experience. The room is beautifully designed, with a stylish, modern feel and high ceilings that make it feel spacious and airy. Everything was thoughtfully put together, creating a perfect, cozy retreat. Every morning, we were treated to an absolutely delicious breakfast. We had things like a refreshing papaya smoothie, traditional string hoppers with dhal and curry, and also roti and hoppers. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and gave us a real taste of local Sri Lankan cuisine – it was such a lovely start to the day! The location is an absolute gem. It’s incredibly peaceful and quiet, tucked away from the hustle, which made it the perfect place to unwind and relax. Even though it’s so tranquil, you’re only a 5-minute walk from the beach, where you can surf or simply enjoy the beautiful coastline. Iresh and his family are the real highlight – they are so warm, friendly, and incredibly welcoming. They made us feel like part of the family from the moment we arrived, always ready to help with anything we needed. Overall, we can highly recommend Mount Side! It’s a peaceful, beautiful spot with an amazing host and family.

This place is so close to the beach! (I think the distance in the description mentioned 1k or something away, but it’s like 2 mins walk away, Pretty much right behind Crab restaurant). New accomodation In Hiriketiya run by the nicest family! Not a home stay so we felt like we had our own space, but they are right next door if you need anything or have any questions (also handy for us to store our bags when we weren’t leaving until the evening). New bedding/mosquito nets and towels provided, guest kitchen is also right there outside the door with jug etc. Really happy we stayed here and will come back when we visit next.

We were looking for a comfortable room in a quiet location. We found exactly that and more. The family at Mahee House is most accomodating and helpful in all regards - even organising massages or showing us where to get tailor-made dresses in the area. We did a lot of homecooking and were provided with all necessary equipment. The area is very charming and quiet at night. If you try to get away from all the rush surrounding beaches like Hiriketiya, yet still want to stay close by, you've found the perfect spot. There is always an inhouse Tuk Tuk around and they will get you quickly to wherever you want go.
