The room is spacious, with private bathroom, the facilities are basic but everything just nice: all you need are there. Breads provided in the pantry are nice, we love the coffee flavour one. It is quite self-service based but everything is easy to use, staff also very responsive through WhatsApp. Location is great, walkable to the center. Very quiet at night. Very recommend to young people and friends (but might not be suitable for family with kids).

Faultless place to stay. Really helpful staff via WhatsApp and on site guest assistant. Self check in was welcome. Cannot fault the place. Would recommend. They have some deals with neighbouring cafes and restaurants to avail of discounts. A/C was very effective which was important given the heat.

we had an amazing stay at aayu stewart! the heritage house is tastefully renovated and our room was spacious with a comfortable bed. self check-in process is smooth and the host was very helpful with lots of tips about the city and always providing quick answers when needed. can only recommend!

I had a wonderful stay in this hotel ! The room was clean, cozy, and well maintained. The bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Location was perfect close to shops and restaurants. Highly recommended!

Nice, simple, clean, cosy, “ikea style”, good location, friendly staff. Yes it’s a bit noisy but I prefer noise with windows rather than silenses and no day light. So for me it was totally fine. Also the room is very spacious which is a big plus compare to other places

We enjoyed the entire week at Green Gates. The location was great and the building made us feel we were living during the colonial era Penang. The food in the area was great and the hotel is conveniently close to all the sites we wanted to visit in Georgetown. Ms Fazeela was an exceptional host and helped us with anything we needed. Looking forward to our next visit. The complimentary visit to the museum across the street is worth a visit as well.

The best part about this accommodation is its location. It's very close to some great restaurants, tourist spots. The room was clean amd tidy. It had an affordable vending machine in case you need food/drink late at night. Water is provided.

I really don't understand the bad reviews. I stayed here for 5 days and if I could I would stay for longer. Yes, it is one of the cheapest hostels in town so it will not be a Hilton. But the beds were comfy, the building is very interesting, there is a kitchen (in which you can actually cook), good wifi, clean showers and the kindest host! Hot and cold drinking water available all day, and a nice small seating area with a table as well in case you wanted to do some work. The vibe is the hostel is very nice and although it is not a super social hostel you can definitely meet other travellers. I felt very comfortable. The location is also excellent! Very close to the main bus station, big supermarket literally next door.I recommend it to everyone who goes to Penang! Thank you Fuan!
