The pool was clean and at any time accessible, the rooms were tidy, clean, and very spacious. Large balcony, private and quiet. The location was great too. I spent there 2 nights and it was very relaxing. The breakfast was delicious too. Definitely recommend this place. Great value for the money!

The host is very generous and helpful, probably the best host I’ve ever met. He basically helped us with everything, the booking of kayaking in the lake, the turtle watching, he took us to the beach and shared lots of useful information. He even waited at the beach to ride my kids back by his motorcycle when it was almost 10 pm. As we were swimming, he arranged our dinner by the pool. The breakfast was also hearty and delicious. As for the villa, it is clean, spacious, nicely decorated. Every room has a clothes drying rack, which is very thoughtful. My favorite is the swimming pool, very clean and modern, there is also a kids pool too!

Guests at the guest house can enjoy a Full English/Irish breakfast, and breakfast in the room is also available. Guests can eat in the on-site family-friendly restaurant, which is open for dinner, lunch, brunch and high tea. the owners were wonderful. great food, excellent recommendations for sightseeing (they provided even a bicycle to go there), wake-up-service at 4.15am for the safari, free „taxi“-service to their neighbour to see deer and to the bus station. and the owners love animals, help you spot birds or crocodiles by the river. just excellent!

It is not possible to describe how special this place is and we highly recommend everyone to come here and experience it yourself. Heaven in Satinwoods is our favorite place in Sri Lanka and also the food here is just the best that you can get. So if you come to this place, you should definitely try the rice and curry. From the first second we arrived at this place, we felt like staying in paradise. We were welcomed with a fresh juice, some wet towels to refresh our faces and a flower necklace. The rooms are very spacious, there is an A/C in every apartment and it is very clean. Also you have drinking water in the room, so you don’t need to buy water. You can just bring empty water bottles and reuse them, which is really great. Also this place has a wonderful garden with many beautiful trees, plants and flowers and you can watch many different animals like giant squirrels and really beautiful birds! The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi throughout the property. This was our most peaceful and resorative stay in Sri Lanka. The room was beautiful, opening onto the garden with the pool in sight, making it a perfect set up for two young children to play and explore fully supervised while we put out feet up . The staff were warm, welcoming and couldn't do enough to help. Our children made great friends with the staff, playing games and helping with jobs and they both cried when we left. Lots of animals around the guesthouse and a very short and easy walk to the beach with had lots of options for food and play. Food at the guesthouse was also brilliant. Couldn't recommend more highly.

He took me on a birdsafari near the accommodation, and he was very knowledgable.
