It's a bit far from the city centre but a 20 min. train ride gets you there for a very affordable price. Prior to arriving, the host sent me a message with several tips which helped a lot. The location is 1-1.5 hr bus metro ride to manhattan. but i think it is acceptable in nyc. Coffee was great as well. The neighborhood felt really safe even at night. We used metro and busses at night and it was nice.
