I was absolutely shocked at the price of the property! It was clean, lovely home, beautiful room and the heat was so welcome after the cold evening we had travelling. The host was amazing and even rang to make sure we had gotten to property.

With free Wi-Fi throughout and private parking on site, this guest house has a peaceful reading room and a breakfast room overlooking Bunratty village. Shannon Airport is only 10 minutes’ drive away.

I can not praise Mary enough and her place !!! She made sure I could get an early check-in ,helped with wi fi ,taxi, and made sure I was comfortable my whole stay !! The property It was clean, warm, and in a quiet neighborhood, you could hear the river nearby from the room. The staff was very polite and their hospitality was in a high level. We arrived at the property before the check in time and they let us to check in and go inside the room.

The Tudor Lodge was a very stream-lined experience: everything was ready when we got there, we received instructions on how to get to the room/ into the room, the continental breakfast was already set up for the next morning (there is a fridge in the room with chilled items), and checkout instructions were clearly written out for us. I only interacted with staff via text, and they were informative and professional. The beds were a little firmer than I’m accustomed to, but they didn’t jostle when the person I shared with moved, and I still slept well. In the morning, I awoke to sunrise over the grassy meadow/hillside and it was just beautiful. It is very close to Bunratty Castle, and easy to find.

We loved everything about our stay. It was the perfect historical setting. The grounds were so beautiful to walk, watch the swans, or sit at the big window (if raining) and enjoy the gardens. It’s still close enough to town to see the sites or take a tour then return to a relaxing home. Sharing a house and meeting other travelers was a bonus. Most of all, we enjoyed our evening with the host (Mark) and his son (Harry) sharing stories. We highly recommend staying at the Shannon River House.
