I usually don’t write reviews but this place is so good that I had no option but to write. This is a house. A proper house with a lovely backyard and cleanliness of highest standards. However, the real charm is the landlady. She is extremely polite and generous to the extent that she goes all the way to accommodate the guest’s needs. From little games to Onsen excursions, just staying at this property should be a reason good enough to visit Gifu. Finally, the food. I would recommend you to wake up super hungry because the landlady puts out a feast every morning! She is a cook par excellence and each dish (including the serveware) has a story to tell. It’s amazing how she manages everything on her own. There is nothing to not like about this place. I visited Gifu on a work trip but now this place has become my reason to return to Gifu. The city has an asset in this place and it truly shows you what Japan is when you take away the neon lights.

Hosts are friendly, warm, accomodating and attentive. Very clean and homely. Lively pets around, which was a welcomed change :) A 30 min walk from Gifu JR, hosts happily dropped us to the station at checkout. I believe you can organise pick up and drop off with the host. Regardless, a 30 min walk on flat ground is completely possible and should not deter anyone. However there is a local line which is 13 min walk from the house.

The rooms were very nice and clean. There was access to washing machines (paid), and other necessary ammenities.

We booked this place just for an overnight stay, but it turned out to be one of the best hospitality experiences during our trip to Japan. The host was incredibly accommodating: managing our expectations before arrival, confirming dinner arrangements, and recommending the best local onsen in town. Although the location was a bit tricky to find in a residential area, the host thoughtfully placed a sign outside with our reservation details, which helped us confirm we were in the right place. Dinner was excellent - traditional Japanese style with miso soup, rice, and a selection of Hida beef cuts. What stood out most was the genuine interest the host took in us. We really enjoyed our conversations with the lovely local couple. A truly memorable stay!

It was absolutely amazing, very nice, calm and clean house Michiko Nakai is very kind person and even though she can speak only a little English she tried her best ( we communicated mostly in Japanese though)

Everything. The bed was so comfortable and you'll get good value for your money ! Mino is a gem, unless you been there before. The bus stop is just outside the door, if you don't have your own wheels. The old couple who runs the Guesthouse is so kind and helpful. If I was to go to Mino again, this would be my choice of accommodation, every time.

Everything. Ike san was the most responsive host during our trip. He gave us valuable recommendations on what to do around the area. His house is beautiful and idyllic. Tiny details show how much Ike san cares about this guests. The location is easily accessible by car and the drive is so picturesque. Highly recommend that you come in summer and enjoy Kayaking time or skiing in winter. We stayed in March, it’s cold but he gave us very thick quilt and we slept soundly through the night.

Highly recommend! Great place to stay for few nights. Very close to the castle and also very close to the nature if you want to do some great walks. Everything was fantastic!
