Emi was a great host and we enjoyed our stay very much. The place is in a quiet side street next to the castle area so very convenient (and easy to reach by bus from the station). We came early and Emi made sure that everything is already ready for us and welcomed us with a tea ceremony. If we revisit Matsue one day I'm sure we will end up staying here again!

The owner of the guesthouse, Mr. Namba, is very friendly. He knows a lot about Shimane, where to go, best way to get there, how much it costs as well as how long it will take. His English is also very good. He is easy to communicate with. The rooms are spacious and open. Although you in a city, it feels like a countryside villa. There is a small Japanese style garden in the back. The location is convenient. It's close to many restaurants. However, I would advise making reservations at the restaurants.

Such a great place to stay in Matsue. It’s an old house with a quirky, young vibe, so you have the best of traditional and modern. Simple and minimalistic but cosy, clean and charming. Host Kohei is very helpful and available. Little cafe downstairs is super cute.

The host was extremely polite and helpful. I wouldn't be able to continue my bike touring journey without his help - for which I'm still deeply thankful. I hope you've got your rope back through the mail! Great couple of food options nearby and the neighbourhood is quiet. There is a garage with tools which was a wonderful addition for a biker.
