Our stay at Swan Lake Habarana was fantastic. Kalhara was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond—organizing a cultural evening, a great safari trip, and arranging tuk-tuks at fair prices. He helped with everything before, during, and after our stay. The guesthouse was clean, comfortable, and surrounded by nature. The breakfast was also very good! Highly recommended!

It’s very rustic and simple. AC is very functional. There were a few hiccups, but the outstanding staff addressed everything immediately. Everything I tried on the menu was delicious. There isn’t a lot to do in Habarana, but it’s a great location to stay if you want to visit the cave temple, Sigiriya, Miniriya and Polonnaruwa. The first three are less than 30 mins away. Polonnaruwa was a fast hour.

The location of the property is perfect for exploring Habarana, visiting Sigirya, and Dambulla. It is a short distance away from the best tourist spots like Lion Rock and the viewpoint, and the host took us to every place we wanted to go in his tuktuk for a really good price. I highly recommend staying here is you want to see Habarana/Sigirya/Dambulla sights as it is a short distance from the Habarana train station and all of the top attractions. We got picked up from the train station and dropped off at the bus stop, and got lots of help with getting to/from places. The hosts organised an elephant safari for us at a very good rate, and it was an amazing trip that I would highly recommend (we saw over 70 wild elephants and got a private tour!). They also had recommendations of things to do and see in the area, such as the local spice garden, and helped us to get there in the tuktuk. We had breakfast and dinner at the homestay every day and it was absolutely delicious. We ate on the balcony which was a really nice touch. The room was incredibly clean and spacious, and was very comfortable despite being the non A/C room. The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating, and couldn’t have done enough for us. They were so helpful in every way and I can’t recommend staying with them enough.

I can't say enough about the kindness of Upali and his family during our 4 night stay. Upali is always friendly, smiling and helpful. He picked us up in his tuk tuk at the train and his wife made us a delicious dinner as we arrived quite late. Upali will help you organize your stay and will provide you with transportation at reasonable prices. We visited Sigiriya and Dambulla one day and Anuradhapura the second day. I highly recommend both excursions. Our 3rd day we were rained out from a village visit but we enjoyed a down day and explored Habarana a bit. The rooms are a good size, a/c worked well and shower was hot. Breakfast was Sri Lankan and was huge and we could never finish it all. For the price you pay, the value was excellent. We were also able to use the kitchen fridge to store some food and beers. I highly recommend this homestay and hope you choose to stay at Dulwan Guest House. Thank you for making our stay memorable!

We stayed in this beautiful house for 3 days. Mr Asanka is a very thoughtful host. He arranged our pick up from the train station and welcomed us with wet cold towel and welcome drinks. The house was very clean and had a beautiful garden. There is a small river passing by, I read my book by the river, so relaxing! We had the breakfast near this river. The breakfast was excellent with a combination of Sri Lankan and continental breakfast. Lots of fresh fruit…the best breakfast I had in Sri Lanka. One feature of this place is that you can use the kitchen. The room was very nice with a new AC and kettle. Hot water was always available. The room had a beautiful balcony. One note about Habarana: Minneriya national park is here and it is absolutely beautiful. We liked it much more than Yala as we were able to see more than 100 elephants in 2 hours.

    I recently stayed at Habarana New Star Home Stay for three nights and had a wonderful experience. The accommodation offers three rooms: two with air conditioning and one with a fan, all featuring ensuite bathrooms and kept very clean. The friendly hosts were a highlight, providing excellent hospitality and offering tuk tuk services to nearby attractions. The breakfast served was delicious, adding to the overall pleasant stay. The location is convenient, just a 5-minute walk from town. Highly recommended!

    We loved this property and would highly recommend it. The host was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. He cooked us dinner each night and a breakfast each morning. Each meal had a massive spread of beautiful food. The property is extremely clean. It is close to Habarana to walk in if needed, however we didn’t do this as we were tired after a long day.     We were delighted with the kindness and attention our hosts provided; nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts in the tree house overlooking the lake were magnificent and plentiful. We also had great home cooked evening meals. The room was a great size, comfortable and the bathroom likewise. We also were taken around the local cultural sites by our host in his tuktuk with him patiently waiting for us before returning to the homestay. All in all, we couldn't have wished for more. Thank you for everything.

    We loved having breakfast and dinner in the little hut with amazing views over the lake. The food was great and nicely prepared by the lovely hosts. The room was very clean and spacious and great value for money. Defintely recommended!

    Jeewa was a great host! He was always trying to help and pretty much organised everything for us. The accommodation is very peaceful and the AC in the room was great. We did several tours through him including Minneriya elephant safari, Sigiriya & Pidurangala rock, Spice garden, Cultural show and to get a Aryuwdric treatment. He dropped us off wherever we needed to go for a very cheap price. The food cooked by Masha was some of the best we had in Sri Lanka!

    It's a small, family-run home stay in a pretty garden. The host was exceptionally friendly, always smiling and making sure we're well taken care of. He offered us fruit juice and helped us catch a bus (directly from the road near the Sath Rest, so very convenient). This homestay is in walking distance to go to a safari trip (we went with nature trails) The host doesn't really speak English, but it wasn't much of an issue - his son helps with translation if needed.
