Brand new accommodation, great location, super clean, air conditioning, lovely breakfast and just the loveliest hosts! Very relaxed vibe, quiet but also really close to the beach and restaurants, little supermarket etc.. Bunty and his lovely wife made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. We also ate there one evening and it’s was delicious! It was an absolute pleasure to stay there .. Highly recommend!

The fantastic Madame Mani is the owner and manager of Gurugedare Heritage. She welcomes all guests with open arms and you feel welcome and home immediately. International or domestic breakfast is offered. Lunch and dinner are Sri Lankan dishes with local ingredients. In the vicinity there is Tallalla Beach approx. 1km. 7km away there is the fantastic Hiriketiya Beach a paradise for surfers. (15min by tuk-tuk) Thank you Madame Mani for a fantastic stay. What a great stay. The hosts are super friendly and offered tea when we arrived. the room is spacious and clean. mosquito net is not damaged and the ventilator works well. breakfast and dinner are very delicious and we recommend to buy dinner from the hosts (900lkr/person). specially to point out is the big balcony with seating area and roof covered. during our stay we had a rainy afternoon and it was perfect to hang out outside. the house is on a silent location and one of the nicests beaches we visited just 100m away. nearby is a small shop where you can buy water and snacks.

The very quiet Gardens, the lovely breakfasts, beautiful empty beach, lovely pool and courteous attentive staff. We had a gorgeous room with an out door,roll top bath. If you're looking for a quiet beach, this will hit the spot. The waves are strong so probably best for confident swimmers though you won't have to be an Olympian! The main house is also gorgeous with an airy colonial vibe. Evening meals can be taken at the beach restaurant over the road ( not a busy road). The place is gated with a 24hour watch for the security minded. Various swings, hammocks and board games dotted around. Peacocks, bee-eaters, monitor lizards and chipmunks abound. Heard a Coppersmith Barbet but didn't see it. Fruit bats fly over at sunset. Heaven!

This was the best hotel where we stayed in Sri Lanka. I felt like I was at home there. The owner is a super friendly person and his family as well! It was sad to leave this place. His garden is just like one big zoo! We saw there monkeys, chameleon, turtle and much more animals! We could just sit there and watch what is happening in his garden all day ☺️ The place was super clean and comfortable. The family shared a lot of knowledge about Sri Lanka and animals with us. When we arrived the owner welcomed us with an amazing tea and let us watch him when he prepared us breakfast so now I can try to make roti in Poland! Thank you one more time for you kindness 🤗🤗

    The hospitality of the family who runs this homestay is incredible. We feel so much home and welcomed there, so that we come to this place year after year. We also enjoyed very much the delicious cooking of our host Anu. She makes a superb rice and curry and for breakfast you have a lot of choices. We recommend the srilankan breakfast. The beach is super near and so you can enjoy a very relaxed holiday there.
