The room is cutely-designed and super clean, nice bathroom, good A/C. Super quiet except for the waves crashing in the distance. Breakfast was very satisfying and complete...egg, yogurt, apple, cereal, coffee, bread, jam. You can pay with a credit card and no % fee added. Although my room did not have a balcony there is a really nice area with a table & chairs looking out to the ocean so you don't need one. I did not use the pool but laid on the chaise for a while, so nice and peaceful. Sure it's a 10-minute walk to the main little square (I timed it once at 9min 50sec) but that's not an issue, it's a very pleasant stroll.

The location is in a little village with 2 little supermarkets and 1 small restaurant. People here know each other and are very friendly.

A nice view from a spacious balcony, beautiful interior and gorgeous paintings on the wall. It was fascinating to stay here for one night in our trip through the island. Apart of that, we got the receipt and tasting of craft grog drink which is so good.

Spectaculair view of the sea and the waves crashing on the rocky coast. Breathtaking! House is clean and well maintained. Garden too. Multiple rooms are rented out and you share the kitchen, living room and outside area with swimming pool. The coast in town has a little beach but is more a place where the locals put there fishing boats in the water. Sometimes someone swims there and that is possible but it is dark brown beach sand and quite big waves, so we didn’t swim in the sea there. If you rent a car somewhere you would be able to visit other places in the island from Cidade Velha. Staff very friendly and stay out of your way. We didn’t take the breakfast, but there is the possibility. The caretaker showed us the way to the village and the small supermarket shops for some groceries. There isn’t much available, but Praia is very close by (you can take a local white transportation van for only a euro into Praia on the main road) and it is a very nice place to stay away from the big town. We stayed in multiple places in Santiago and thought this was the most beautiful location to stay in the island.
