Offering quiet street views, Baco Myoko Akakura is an accommodation set in Myoko, 35 km from Nagano Station and 44 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park. It is situated 34 km from Zenkoji Temple and provides a 24-hour front desk. The accommodation features a hot spring bath, free WiFi throughout the property and family rooms. The owner Ai is one of the kindest, coolest humans I've met in Japan. As a solo traveller I couldn't have asked for a better place to base myself to enjoy the snow and Myoko. Baco Myoko has an unassuming facade hiding a relaxed, comfortable haven to kick back in after riding the surrounding mountains. Ai has great knowledge of the area when it comes to eating and good advice on mountains to ski for the current conditions. A great place to meet people if adventuring alone, private onsens, shuttles to the mountains and great breakfasts are all part of the package.I know how hard it is to sort through all the accomodation options in myoko, trust me and stay with Ai for your trip. You won't regret it

Dave and Lisa are so easy to deal with and made us feel so welcome that we turned our 2 day trip into 7! They made our trip so convenient from picking us up and shuttling us to/from skiing and the train station, to booking us suppers at the best restaurants, spas and onsens and day trips. Do yourself a favour and stay here, you will not regret it!

Located a short walk (although up a bit of a hill but good to get you warmed up for the day) away from the main part of town, Japow House provided a comfortable place to rest after a day up the mountain. Their new showers are amazing and were so nice to come back to after a day at the snow. Brekky was delicious, nutritious and varied each day, rooms were comfy, warm, spacious. Boasting a bar, shared lounge and views of garden, Hotel Mumon is situated in Myoko, 34 km from Zenkoji Temple. Each accommodation at the 2-star guest house has mountain views, and guests can enjoy access to free bikes and to a garden. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Incredibly warm and friendly staff, we felt so welcome and comfortable the entire stay. Was great having a large lounge downstairs with a bar and food available so we could gather there together with friends who were staying at nearby lodging. It’s a short walk to all the activity/restaurants on the main drag, and to the ski lift/ticket office. Facilities are older but very clean and we never lacked for anything. We appreciated the fresh hot tea and treats each afternoon in the room, and great breakfast/coffee each morning. Shinja, Kenji, Hitomi and their families were so sweet and incredibly helpful with everything to make sure we had an enjoyable visit. We are planning to stay at Hotel Mumon again on any future visits to the area!
