From the warm welcome, the delicious dinner (consisting of homemade deer stew), the stimulating conversation with fellow guests, the heated bathroom floors & water pressure in the shower, the cloud like mattress & pillows dressed in soft linen, to the unbelievable breakfast spread with freshly prepared baked goods, eggs of all variety, local jams, cheese, granola, porridge, juice & coffee! Meeting Hege Kristin & her family and sharing a meal with them was a definite highlight of my stay. They also maintain & operate a 9-hole golf course!

Located in a quiet oceanfront area on the island of Averøy, this former Bacalao (salt modified and dried cod) factory has been restored into a rustic guesthouse. The brightly decorated studio apartments tell you the ancient history of the building. The rooms come with views of the Atlantic Ocean from French balconies. Kristiansund town center is 10km away. The Atlantic Ocean Road is 25km away. It was a very unique and pleasant experience . The location , the friendliness of staff , every thing was wonderful . Serene , peaceful , quiet !

A recently renovated homestay in Ålesund and within 4.2 km of Color Line Stadion, Cozy Retreat in the Heart of Ålesund features a terrace, comfortable allergy-free rooms and free WiFi. Shahram is truly the best host you could ask for! Besides keeping the apartment sparkling clean and taking care of everything you might need before you even ask him, he's just a great person. Super friendly, welcoming, kind, knowledgeable and interesting to talk with. He'll give you tips about hiking areas around Ålesund and even tips about life if you need some 😉 The apartment itself is about 12 minutes away by walking from the center and 2 minutes from Rema/Kiwi supermarkets. It has a small kitchen with just what you need to prepare your own simple meals. The rooms and the shared bathroom are new and shiny, very spacious and comfortable. Communication with Shahram is again very easy, by messages or by just knocking on his door. He lives in the apartment but has his own space and fully respects your privacy. Definitely the best place I've stayed in during my vacation. If you're ever in this beautiful city, don't hesitate!
