Wow! what a location; it’s an adventure gettimg there…but absolutely worth it. Solo traveler; the Masaya team does a great job w activities, chill music, places to be solo and place to be w others, communal later dinners, and just very cheerful folks who take care of the lodge, the food, and the folks to a recognizable degree. GRACIAS, Masaya Casas Viejas. When I return to the coast ..I will be back.

This hostel doesn't put a foot wrong. The surroundings are beautiful, the rooms are comfy, the building itself is gorgeous and spotless, the food is excellent and served communally at a single large table. To make things even better, the prices are extremely reasonable. You can hike there from Minca or Cuchilla San Lorenzo. Most people get here with moto taxis.

We came with our 10 month old baby and everyone was very accommodating. There was a baby bed in the room with a mosquito net and staff were helping us out with heating the bottle. Our little one loved the swimming pools which were also often in the shade. The whole resort was incredibly clean and well kept. Staff were very kind and friendly. Loved the breakfast and fresh juices. It was easy to meet other travelers at the communal dining area. Eclectic mix of backpackers and families. Surroundings are very beautiful.

The host is very friendly, helping us with a reliable airport shuttle, local recommendations and a ride to Minca. The room that we stayed at was exceptional, with plenty of room, a stunning view and comfortable beds. Even the bathroom is a true jungle experience. I recommend staying at the Pistacho Hostel!

Everything was great! Staff was very nice and shared helpful information with a map when we arrived. They have a great breakfast that you can order for a small fee. 15000 COP. Fruit and yogurt with granola or eggs, toast, and fruit. Coffee and juice provided as well. Kitchen was nice to use as well and very well equipped. The hostel is located up a steep hill but not a huge issue if you are reasonably fit. They have laundry services as well.
