Hostels in Heraklio

I had a private room with a private bathroom and it was excellent. The location is close to the city centre and the waterfront and I hung out with other fellow travellers playing cards one evening. The hostel enabled a good mix of solitude and being social!

I liked everything. I stayed in 2 different hostels in Heraklion, both were great, but if I ever come back, I will pick this one again.

We stayed here for only one night. Host was an amazing and friendly guy. Picked us up from the airport at 4AM and offered to drive us to our next destination for a cheaper price than the Lyft app. Highly recommend.

The Heraklion Youth Hostel vastly exceeded my expectations! For such a low price, I was really just hoping for a semi-clean place to sleep and leave my bags during the day, but I was very impressed by the space, security, and cleanliness. The owner of the hostel cleans every day during the 10:00-15:00 hours for new guests to arrive, and the bedroom, bathrooms, and kitchen facilities were very clean and tidy. Additionally, each guest gets a key to the hostel, their room, and a filing cabinet-type drawer for their bag, so I knew all my pricey souvenirs would be secure during the day. I could always ask at reception for tips on how to get somewhere or what to do on my free day, and on the last day the owner called me a taxi and gave me a small parting gift magnet to remind me of my trip! I am blown away by the service of management and the personal touch they provided to my trip! Also, forgot to mention earlier, the location is very convenient, being near the city center but off a side street, which provided some much appreciated distance from the noise as I had some early mornings and thus, early bedtimes.
