Hide (the owner) is the most gracious, thoughtful and kindest host I've ever come across - from offering a detailed introduction to Lake Toya (things to do and places to eat) to picking me up after fireworks at night and dropping me off at the train station in the morning because it was raining! It's heartwarming to meet such considerate and genuinely wonderful human beings. The room was a very comfortable Japanese style apartment room. Very clean and spacious. Hide also offers a 500 yen coupon for a lakeside onsen bath at a four star hotel in Toya onsen! Overall, this was my best stay in Hokkaido. Next time, I'm coming back for 5 nights because 2 was too few!

Unique hostel with perfect location a few minutes from the gondola. Our highlight was meeting the staff and hanging out together on our last evening which made our experience unforgettable. Great friendly group, hostel full of dedicated skiers and snowboarders looking to enjoy japow on a budget

Me and my fiance stayed here from May 1 to 5. Let's name this place the HIDDEN GEM OF HOKKAIDO. - Tatami, modern minimalistic. 🏚 - Above and beyond amenities for a guesthouse. - The family vibe given by the people (staff and owner) to a person like me who has bad experiences as a Gaijin. - The sense of trust and balanced camaraderie between guest and owner. - The instructions in every corner of the house to follow, especially i am a foreigner who's wanting to know their ways and respect it. - The preservation they did to the house is a huge respect 🙏 - House is near at (1) 711, Ramen House, 1 Grocery store, 1 Fushi iminari, 1 JR station, 1 combini aside from 711. Tip: 1 They (711) have Takyubin if you want to send your stuff to your next city or province. It is very easy and very affordable. 2 Fare is very affordable, but you have to be aware of the time. PLUS, the last ride is 7:15 pm during my stay or else you will walk and hike in the dark for 1 hour and 45 minutes to get back home to guest house. 3. Although everything is cheap, you must consider shopping at the grocery store to cook for food when you get home around 8 pm for breakfast and lunch to bento it. You will save huge money to use for fare and activities. Overall: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE. I WORKED FOR BOOKING.COM, AND I KNOW WHAT WILL PASS AND NOT AND I HAVE BEEN SENT TO MANY PLACES JUST TO RATE ROOMS AND PLACES LIKE THIS. BUT DURING MY STAY IS PERSONAL AND IT EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS AND MY STANDARDS WHICH ARE RELATIVELY HIGH DUE TO MY PREVIOUS WORK. I WOULD CHOOSE THIS PLACE OVER A NY HOTELS THAT OFFER FREE BUS RIDES AND HAS VIEW.

Lovely staff, very cozy atmosphere in the common room. Shower room was the largest I've seen on any trip to Japan, which is excellent for taller people. Beds were comfortable and had good privacy. Excellent value for location.

Very clean rooms and shared space. The shared showers and bathrooms are modern and allow for privacy - we didn't feel like being in a hostel at all. AC was available and working well - very necessary in the hot summer months.

This is a clean, well-run guesthouse with friendly staff and a café where you order on a machine - the café doesn't take cash but did accept my foreign card with no issues. This guesthouse is a great budget option compared to the spa hotels in Toyako Onsen. There's a list in the café of the onsens in the town that you can visit with details like prices and opening times. The staff were very kind and helpful.

The hostel's location is good. It is very convenient to have a bathroom and a sink in the room. The storage space under the bed is quite spacious. The common areas are fairly clean.

A great location near the local restaurants, bars, hot springs, etc. The hosts were very accommodating and allowed me to store my bike inside the lobby. They were very friendly and recommended me some great places to eat and drink in the area. Overall, a chill place to stay if you're looking for a hostel. I was also the only guest in the hostel so it seemed like I had the place to myself.
