Welcome to our picturesque 110-acre farm in the renowned Barossa, a world-famous wine region in South Australia! It's a peaceful place, where you can relax, surrounded by beautiful red gum studded land. Immerse yourself in country life while still being conveniently close to the region's finest cellar doors, restaurants, and other attractions. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city, less than 10 minutes from Angaston.
The Loft offers one Queen bed upstairs with a living area, kitchenette, bathroom and separate toilet downstairs, as is the adjoining country casual dining area. Please note that as this covered outdoor space is partially exposed to the elements, despite fans and heaters, it does resemble the outdoor environment and can be hot in summer and cold in winter. For those cooler months, we have a lovely fire bowl set up for you to enjoy. Wood is provided for your convenience. Be advised that use is only permitted outside of the Mount Lofty Ranges Fire Danger Season, which is typically 15 November to 30 April every year. No fire is permitted on Total Fire Ban days.
If you wish to be met on arrival, please let us know as this may sometimes be possible.
Also please message us if we can be of any assistance during your stay - we are happy to help with any questions about The Loft, the farm or the beautiful Barossa Valley.
The Loft Barossa is just 1 hour and 20 minutes’ drive from Adelaide, in enchanting Eden Valley, known as the 'High Country' of the Barossa. Here, you can enjoy premium cool climate wines (best tasted straight from a cellar door), explore local artisanal produce, and experience gourmet dining at award-winning restaurants and charming local eateries.
Explore nearby wineries such as Yalumba (Australia’s oldest family-owned winery) and premium Henschke (both less than a 10-minute drive away).
You can also enjoy strolls through our farm where, besides the sheep and horses, you might spot kangaroos. Walkers can also hike through the scenic Kaiserstuhl Conservation Park. Golfers can enjoy a round at the Barossa Valley Golf Club, an 18-hole course nestled among rolling vineyards, a 20-minute drive away.
In Angaston (the nearest town – about 8 minutes’ drive), you'll find the Barossa Farmers Market, held every Saturday morning, and the local Foodland supermarket, open daily.
For those interested in more German influences, you could head further afield to explore Hahndorf, Australia’s oldest surviving German village, a one hour scenic drive away in the wine region of the Adelaide Hills.
Laundromats are available in both Tanunda and Nuriootpa.
The nearest major airport to The Loft is Adelaide Airport (ADL), located about 97 kilometers (60 miles) away. You can best reach The Loft from the airport by hire car or a transfer service.
There are two taxi companies available in the Barossa: Barossa & Light Cab Service and Barossa Taxis. For efficient service, we recommend planning your itinerary ahead of time and booking your taxis in advance to avoid any possible delays.
