Ferry Walk House is family and pet friendly and many guests return to stay year after year. The ground level garden apartment is equipped to a high standard, designed to anticipate guests' needs by providing everything they might want for a comfortable stay. Hair dryers, bathrobes and beach towels are provided as standard. The kitchen is fully equipped, including coffee, tea and seasonings. Laundry products are included with the washer and dryer. The living room includes a desk, flat screen TV, fireplace and a comfortable L-shaped sofa and chairs. For guests needing the second bedroom, they will find a second TV and desk with a large picture window overlooking a colourful, lush garden in summer. Guests enjoy their own private garden with outside furniture. The BBQ adds to the enjoyment of outside dining. It is a great place to relax in summer. Ferry Walk House is truly a home away from home.
Valerie is a grandmother, originally from near London in the UK. Since 2014 she has welcomed numerous guests, children and pets. Valerie lives above the apartment. She fully respects the privacy of her guests while always being available to respond to questions or to offer suggestions about activities and local places to visit. Often communication is by text to ensure speedy response times. Valerie has a golden retriever called Flanders, born on Remembrance Day. Flanders is an Ambassador Dog for the Canadian Institute for the Blind (CNIB). He accompanies Valerie when she makes presentations to raise awareness about the importance of Guide Dogs. They can always be seen together at local community events.
Ferry Walk House is located in the small friendly village of Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver, 15 km from Vancouver city centre. Walk to diverse eateries, small shops and a waterfront park, all surrounded by breath-taking scenery. Mountains, beaches, parks and hiking trails are close by. The location offers a perfect gateway to summer and winter activities locally and in Whistler, (2010 Olympics), as well as ferries to Vancouver Island, Bowen Island and the Sunshine Coast. There is an express bus service to Vancouver with a 30 minute travel time. The local bus takes the scenic route along Marine Drive through West Vancouver. The bus stop is beside the ferry terminal and a 3 minute walk from the house.
