Casa Valle de Palmeras is a traditional Canarian house (circa 1900) and family home which exudes a feeling of warmth. Guests can enjoy the original rustic charm of the garden apartment connected to the house which is ideal for couples and small families. The apartment has its own entrance which opens up into a sheltered garden with comfy seating, and dining area. The garden is an ideal place to sit and relax whist catching the sun and leads into the sunlit apartment which has a bedroom/living room, breakfast bar, kitchen and bathroom. The large bedroom, has a double bed. The apartment also has a fully equipped small practical kitchen which includes a fridge, 4 ring gas hob, microwave, toaster, coffee pod machine and kettle. The kitchen leads to the bathroom with a modern shower, sink and WC. There is a 'smart' television in the bedroom/living area with access to Netflix and other streaming services but not 'local' Spanish channels. The apartment has its own Wi-Fi router but being in such a remote spot it does go offline occasionally for short periods. We can also supply on request a long Ethernet cable for you to use to plug laptops into the router. The house is situated in a protected area on a one way street leading to the centre of Haria which is a few minutes walk away and just 6KM away from the beach. Walk to the end of the road and you are in the middle of the beautiful local mountain trails with volcanos and ocean views.
We have lived on Lanzarote since 2006. Our three children have grown up here and are part of the community. We love Haria, the local life, walking the trails, and soaking up the sun! The slower pace of life suits us well. We are ready to help you get to know the area and its attractions, plan walks etc.
The house is an old Canarian house which was built in 1900. Many of the original characteristics are still in place. We converted the detached property in 2017 and divided it into two separate spaces including a space for guests with the original private entrance. We live next door with 3 dogs and a cat. You may hear us, the dogs do bark sometimes, they are our security! but we are generally quiet! The village is a mainly farming community so there are many dogs that mostly live outside, if you are not out exploring during the day you will hear them, also the odd donkey, goats and chickens!
We want to make sure our guests have the best experience possible staying with us in Haria. To this end guest feedback is really important to us. As we are next door we can help with any problems which may arise. Please let us know!
If young children are part of the booking but have not included them on the booking please inform us so we can ensure we set the rooms accordingly. And if you are a booking of two and still require two beds please let us know in advance. Please read the description of the house before booking.
Haria is an original Canarian village known as the valley of a thousand palms. It is a sheltered green oasis in the north of the island. Here you can enjoy a slower pace of life as you soak up local culture wandering around the village or sitting at a bar. The local plaza is a few minutes walk away offering a few great value Canarian bars/restaurants and shops. If you enjoy leisurely or more challenging walks, there are many scenic routes to choose from. There are also tourist attractions close by such as Cesar Manrique's house, Jameos del Agua, Cueva de los Verde, Mirador del Rio, and Jardin de Cactus. Haria is also home to an artisan market in the plaza every Saturday. And for beach lovers, the closest beach, Playa la Garita, is just 6km away. The surrounding villages are well worth a visit such as Punta Mujeres with its secluded sea pools, Orzola with its surfing beach, fish restaurants, and ferry service to the small island of Graciosa, and Mala which leads to the picturesque naturist village of Charco del Palo. Haria is an ideal centre for your holiday with most of the island attractions in areas like Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen no more than a 35 min drive away.
