The town of Lanark sits within the central belt of Scotland, in the beautiful Lower Clyde Valley. The town sits on the national William Wallace trail as the place where the story began through his love for his wife. Lanark Museum, which houses a collection of items which illustrate the history of the town, is housed in the YMCA building.
